Weigh the Anchor!

I don't know why I titled this post that... perhaps because we are embarking on a new journey into the uncharted seas of having not to pay base rent. Ah well, enough with the rambling let's get to the good stuff:

Item number 1 on our agender (agenda):

I hope you all thoroughly abused doubled exp weekend. I know I did. I'm sure they'll have another one sometime, but who knows when that'll be. If you did miss it, know that you also missed a fair number of questionable teams, crashes and amazing lag that almost rivaled Hami raids from time to time. So yes, we got the good with the bad with the ugly.

Item number 2 on our agender (agenda):

Please continue to dump your spare salvage in the first bin on the left as you enter the workshop. I'm still trying to collect up enough salvage to make our last Empowerment Station for magical salvage. We have a Tier III Empowerment Station for tech which is as high as they go I believe, but I'm still looking for the right salvage to finish our Tier III magical Empowerment Station. If you haven't tried making buffs yet, I encourage you do so!

Item number 3 on our agender (agenda):

We are making some serious progress on our SG healing badge for our Autodoc. Last time I checked we were just over halfway. For those of you not familiar with this SG badge it is a badge we earn by having our healers be in SG as they heal. It's that simple. When we've healed 5,000,000 points in SG mode we will have earned the Autodoc badge which will allow us to create this device from salvage and put it in our Medbay. An autodoc sells greens and blues at normal influence cost from any contact. Very handy to have as it can save you many trips to contacts to resupply. So keep up the good work! We are well on our way to getting this in the base!

Base Revamp Complete!

And I'm rather tickled with the results. I think you will be too.

Some unexpected items in the process of creating the base:

1.) I was actually able to place the location markers above each portal. I wasn't sure the base editor was going to allow me to do this, but it did. This makes it easy to figure out which portal is needed by looking up and quickly scanning the portal markers. I also organized the portals such that the city zones are on the left hand side and the hazard zones are on the right. Peregrine had to be placed on the right hand side, as there wasn't room. It's dead last on the right hand side as you enter.

2.) In order to have enough Control to get all the portals working I did have to purchase a Supercomputer. This was unexpected. It was also an extra 800k prestige I didn't anticipate having to spend. Fortunately we had it in the bank. It does mean our prestige dipped below the 500k mark after I did some modest decorating to spruce the place up a bit. We'll have to do a little work to build up again as there are still a few goodies I would like to be able to provide in the base.

Some of these things:

Auto-doc (dispenses smallest greens and blues at contact cost)
Robo-surgery (I believe this lets you resurrect in the base with more health)
Snazzy decor (because you guys deserve the best!)

Auto-doc is dependent on us getting an SG badge for healing but we are making some serious headway on it. All in all these items aren't that expensive. I'm not sure if the Robo-surgery requires a badge yet.. I'll have to do some research into that. I do know that I don't want to spend any more until two things happen. One, I'd like to build up our reserve a bit more. Two, I'd like to see what the devs are going to do about base rent.

3.) Due to the purchase of the Supercomputer I expect that our rent will increase a bit more than I would have liked for the time being. You guys surprised me before by earning all that prestige to be able to afford this base, so I'm confident you guys will rise to the task of maintaining it. Keep in mind that if they bring about the base rent changes on the test this base will be FREE to maintain as it's still on the 8x8 map. I'm honestly considering not upgrading plot size now that we were able to get 16 portals on this map.

4.) I was able to create three salvage bins in the new workshop in order to try to keep things tidy. I currently have it organized left to right. First bin on the left is for dumping salvage that you are contributing towards the cause. The second, or middle bin, is for components that can be used in the workstations to make buffs. The last I am using as a receptacle for special salvage. Currently the Halloween salvage is in there. I've been trying to keep update with keeping raw salvage to a minumum by creating components regularly so we always should have room for people to dump salvage.

Again, thank you all for your efforts in earning prestige for this base. I put some serious research, thought and work into this base with the hope that it makes transport much easier for the SG. Enjoy!

New and Improved Base Coming!

I've found a new base configuration online that I am going to attempt to get working tonight. It will involve getting a massive teleportation room [5x5] and have a whopping total of 16 zones to which we can teleport. It does mean having one less workshop which I'm not sure we're going to miss that much anyway. The teleport room will end up being the Grand Hall of the base and give our base a little roomier feel I think. It will probably end up costing about 800k of our reserve prestige stash if my addin' isn't all mussed up in my head.

I'll be temporarily removing all the salvage and putting it on my alts to make sure we don't lose any of it in the transition. It would be a shame to lose all your hard earned salvage in some random idiot mouse click made by yours truly. After all is said and done I'll return all the salvage so people can continue to make self buffs in the workshop*.

This means the base may be a bit of a mess this evening. My apologies in advance if you need to the use the teleports or medbay and they are out of commission in your time of need. I'll do my best to get the functional stuff up and running as soon as possible and leave the "makin' it all purty" for last.

*You are making self buffs in the workshop aren't you? Or at least playing around with it a little? If you aren't.. please feel free to give it a whirl. The recipes are right on the device.. all you need to do is grab some components from the salvage storage and play around a little!

Base Rent Changes

Many of you may have heard of the base rent changes that are currently on the Test Server. If you haven't here is the basic breakdown for the rent changes on the low end of the prestige scale (the ones that we could probably afford):

Tiny Hidden Spot 8x8 0
Small Hidden Spot 8x12 20000
Hidden Spot 12x12 43000
Small Secret Location 12x16 65000

What does this mean for us?

Well, could mean several different things if the devs actually bring this to the production servers:

Our options include:

1.) Keeping our current base size and have no rent to pay. That's right.. zippo rent. (8x8)

2.) Adding three rooms to our base for about half the rent we are used to paying. (8x12)

3.) Adding a whopping five rooms for the same rent we are currently used to paying. (12x12)

4.) Adding *ahem* EIGHT rooms for a little more than we are currently used to paying. (12x16)

Factors to consider:

Our Bank

If you guys had told me, "Yo, Armored before you know it we'll be paying maintenance and have 2 mil in the bank..." I would have giggled, raised my eyebrows and said.. "Yeah.. you guys are silly..". Now all I can say is.. "Wow, you guys did it... aaaaawesome." My point being, you guys have helped bank up a nice savings of prestige which could help pay for quite a few adds to the base. Well done!

Low maintenance

I still am holding firm to the notion that the base should never be a strain or a stress to anyone in terms of paying rent. The final decision on which base size to go with will be deeply rooted in this idea.

Added features

There are still portals and workshops that I would love to be able to add to the base. In order to do so we would seriously need to beef up Control and add some Power, but it is quite attainable.

I would love to hear ideas and thoughts from other people regarding the base and the changes coming up in the possible rent decrease.

Welcome, Closet Monsters!

We have recently formed a coalition with the Closet Monsters SG. We've had fun teaming with them and hope all of you will as well!

In related news, we are no longer in coalition with the Divas. We wish them well in future endeavors.

Cheers, and happy hunting, all!

Supergroup Promotions

Hiya all, been awhile since I've posted anything here.

Wanted to get you up to speed on what's happening with SG promotions currently.

This is the current breakdown of titles (which I'll be changing in game tonight to match what I have posted here):

Scurrrvy Dog
Scallywagger
Gots their Sealegs
Firrrst Matey
Captain 'o' the Ship

In order for me to explain this properly I will now need to engage pirate-speak...

/loading pirate-speak version 2.01
/pirate-speak engaged

Now yer Scurrrvy Dogs is yer basics entry member into tha Crimson Permanent Assurance. They've gots access to tha pirate base and all the fixin's therein just like all members.

Then we haves tha Scallywaggers. A rough and tumble crew who have managed to collect a total booty of 100,000 prestige for our treasure hoard.

Those who Gots their Sealegs arrrrrrre desperados who have looted and pillaged a grand total of 200,000 prestige for the good of the Crimson Permanent Assurance.

The last title attainable by plundering fer prestige is the Firrrst Matey. Ye must be a stout and brave pirate to muster up the 300,000 prestige necessary to called this illustrious moniker.

Captain 'o' the Ships is reserved for the founding members of the CPA for recruiting and pirate base managements.

Now I'm sure some of ye ares all-a-fretting because ye don't have the current prestige for yer current title. Have no fear. There will be no strippin' of the titles. This here gradiant-scaling is for the hands who wishes to be promoted on their merits and doings.

Now, if ye all don't minds.. I'd like to slip outta pirate-speaks here because I thinks I pulled a muscle in me old pie-hole.

/purging pirate-speak version 2.01
/pirate-speak disengaged

Ahhhh.. much better.
